Our waitress is cooking tonight. The cook, who the customers call the 'bathroom cook', has been transferred to one of the day shifts for drinking on the job, coming to work drunk, and because of numerous customer complaints. They did sometimes complain about her cooking, but not because it wasn't good. It was because the order wasn't right, or it took a lonnnnn...pause....lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time to come out. She demonstrated an attitude with statements like What am I supposed to do about it? I'm not perfect, or Well I can't read your writing, or...and this is right up there at the top of the favorites, S/he'll just have to wait a minute. *cough*uh...customer*cough*
Our waitress didn't know the move was in progress until after it was decided and a replacement was chosen. *scary music playing* The Kid.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

No way, Jose! Our waitress called Alice straightaway and said, How about if I cook, and Dimples can wait tables? We're a good team, both honest, win-win. Alice said okay. So our waitress is cooking tonight, without pay, with the Kid standing (or whatever...) by to lend a hand, give pointers/advice, and let her know if she's doing something wrong. Another win-win.

bathroom cook, thinking Our Waitress was responsible for her shift change, called Alice and made up a lie in an effort to get Our Waitress canned. Alice called O.W. and told her about it. She and O.W. are friends, after all. O.W. went camping with Alice and her family, by invitation. She had a blast.

What to do? Well, O.W. will be cooking tonight!

Alice's Place

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Our Waitress
I found a neat photo for "Our Waitress", who doesn't have a name in this story yet, I noticed. *frown* Suggestions?

I was attempting to create an icon to use with Alice's Place entries, but for some reason I can't seem to manage that (should be) simple task. Help?

On with the story... )
